Obinna and omotola chapter 2

…………… Obi and Omotola …………..

On the eastern part of Aiyetoro town, not far from the mountains where people go to the top to look at the beautiful view of the whole town from the tops. Villagers looked like stones from the top which is to describe how far up the top of the mountains are. Mr Olaitan  lived closer to the mountains, with his wife Rebecca and his twin children, Bola and Bolu.

Bola  was the adventurous male who loved the view from the top of the mountain who goes there especially during Festive period in the village so he can see every even happening.

This was about 40 years ago on that  same mountain where Mr Olaitan, his wife Rebecca, and their twin Bola and Bolu lived. Bola and Bolu were opposite kids with different passion and interest. Bolu was a more reserved young lady who loves to write, her imagination is wide and she hopes to study art so as to bring her imagination to life.

One day, just a week before a festival which happens in the community.

The twin Runs into the room which Mr Olaitan and Rebecca are….

Bolu – Baba, I heard you this year’s festival would be one of the best which foreigners from Lagos would come?

Mr Olaitan Laughs….

Rebecca – My Beautiful Daughter, was( laps Bolu and teases her) You’re one of the most beautiful talented young girls in this community and I’m sure all those foreigners coming to our festival would be excited to meet you especially your talents, books and arts.

Bola bluffs ….

Bola – What I’m interested about is just viewing from above the mountains with my friends, Bolu can go and advertise her books.

Bola – Laughs out loud, no Mr Olaitan – My son, remember I told them about your climbing skill too, no talent is wasted my Boy (teases Bola)

Rebecca – What about the surprises we have for this children

Mr Olaitan – I almost forgot, (Draws the twin closer)  take this white hand beads, this is a symbol of ‘oritsa Ibeji’ Both of you should always be together.

Rebecca – Together at all time, no matter what, Both of you should love and always care for another, from generation to generation.

Bola & Bolu – Thank you Baba, Mama (Holds one another) we’ll never abandon one and other forever and ever.

This was becoming a custom for Mr Olaitan, as he loves his twin so much. Meanwhile he was always sad because of his wife ‘Rebecca’ health. Rebecca had been sick for a while.

After the whole festival, on that faithful night,  Bola takes his bicycle down the hill to pickup Bolu who was just returning home from the festival ground, she was so happy she sold all her books and collected many contacts which promised to invite her to Lagos to promote her books. On her way home, she saw an injured puppy laying helplessly by the side of the roadway, she helps the puppy and all do good, Bola was there with his bicycle to pick them up.

They had to help the poor puppy home, while they were on their way home, a young man calls out for them, they had to stop and immediately the puppy rushed to meet this strange young man that called out, Maybe thats her owner, Bolu thought as he approaches them.

Young man – Thanks a lot, I’ve been looking for him everywhere.

Bola – it’s a pleasure sir, we saw him laying helplessly like it was lost.

Young man – Yes, thank you.

(Turns to Bolu) Aren’t you the beautiful talented miss I saw at the festival today, my manners I’m Adebisi, I came for this festival from Lagos Island, I came along with my father.

Bolu – Thank you sir, Its a pleasure.

Adebisi – (thinks Bola is her husband) I’m sorry for the way I complimented your wife, she’s quite a writer though.

Bola – can we go home, Baba would be so worried we not home by now.

o, she’s my twin.

Bolu -( Carried away with the chemistry between she and Adebisi) Yes, nice meeting you Mr Adebisi

Adebisi – (holds Bolu) when will I see you again.

Bolu – Just follow the mountains (teases Adebisi)

As they drove off.

Bola – whats that about Bolu, you and Adebisi hmm.

Bolu – Nothing jawe, just a normal conversation.

‘And that’s how your dad met your mom’ Rebecca said to Omotola, Omotola was the daughter Bolu had for Adebisi, before leaving for Lagos with her husband Adebisi and her twin Bola to sign a multi million deal before the tragic accident that took their lives.

Omotola grew up to reading her mom’s books and that gave her the interest to pursue the Career her mother couldn’t live up to before death cut her short.

Suleiman and Omotola was the only children Bolu had for Adebisi. Suleiman I’d the eldest and is regarded as the greatest hunter in the town of Aiyetoro.

Suleiman was a fierce hunter who was a legend in the community after single-handedly trapping and killing two adult lion that eats all livestock at night, he did that when he was 21years, Suleiman became popular and became the head leader of the youths council alongside his best friend Oriyomi who secretly loved Suleiman’s Sister Omotola.

Omotola on the other hand had ambitions to complete her late mom’s stories and publish the books and continue the legacy of her family which the Osha Ibeji bead signifies.

On a faithful evening, Omotola was in the market trying to market her books to the foreigners who comes to trade fish in the market, A young Boy named Tobi comes from behind to scare Omotola.

Omotola laugh without looking but knew it was Tobi.

Omotola – you this boy, you’ve found me here again with your old tricks.

Tobi – (laughs gently) Ekasan Aunty Yola, I have a good news for you, I’ve been looking for you all around the market.

Omotola -Oya, tell me I’m listening

Tobi – Your book as gone viral in my school o, everybody loves it, even my biology teacher seized it and later was asking me about the writer. I think he loved the story.

Omotola – hmm, that’s a good development but you know the target is to get recognize by the foreigner that can help me publish in Lagos, where so many people will reach out for my books and I’ll be everywhere. Omotola Aiyetoro to the world.

As Omotola was talking, came Tobi’s biology teacher, he was so impressed by omotola’s goals, Tobi had given Omotola a sign but she didn’t notice, she kept on talking until….

Tobi – Mr Obinna you’re here in the market…. Good day sir Obi

Omotola turns towards Obinna and she got lost with the sight of Obinna, “This guy again” she thought, she’s always shy around him.

Obinna – How are you Tobi, Good day beautiful talented Miss Omotola, it’s nice to see you again. Here in the market lol. And I’m sorry for what happened the last time.

Obinna – Tobi, would you run off to school now and get ready for your forthcoming examinations?

Tobi runs off and goes back to school ….

Omotola could bearly look at Obinna’s face,

Omotola – No, I should thank you for helping me with my fruits,

Obinna and Omotola talk for few minutes then Obinna asked Omotola to show him what inspires her stories, then Omotola takes him towards the mountains top, Obinna was so scared of heights and they spend the whole day, talking about themselves.

Obinna and Omotola had a very good relationship hence where they see one and other everyday on the mountain top and play together, they were in Love with one and other.

Obinna treated Omotola like a queen and had passion in her carrier, believed in her dreams and always motivated her.

Omotola Loved Obinna because of how sweet, gentle and caring he is. He is every woman’s dream, Omotola said to Rebecca her Grandmother. Rebecca was happy and was hoping to meet the man of Omotola’s dreams someday.

About Months later, after the love birds had met on the mountain top, Obinna had just heard about Omotola’s pregnancy for him, he was the happiest man, he was planning and was ready to settle down with her, move to Lagos after his service and start building his carrier as a business man and also Omotola’s career as a book writer.

That faithful night, at Obinna’s house, just as Obinna finish talking with Omotola on the phone. A big bang sounded in the backyard, Obinna thought it was a livestock, he stepped outside and next thing he was unconscious. He was hit by a stick on the head by a masked man.
